UK Driving Licence Holders: Exchange your licence before Brexit

With Brexit & a possible no-deal fast approaching, UK driving licence holders living in Ireland are encouraged to exchange their licence for an Irish licence.

With ongoing negotiations between the EU & UK the outcome of Brexit is nowhere near clear, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) who operate the NDLS has said that those UK licence holders who do not exchange their UK licence for an Irish/EU licence in the coming weeks face a driving ban if Britain crashes out of the EU on October 31st without a deal.

The RSA also stated that “if you wait until close to the UK exit date of October 31st you may face lengthy delays in exchanging a UK licence”
