GoCar App Update February 2020

 

The latest update of your GoCar app is now available in both the App & Google Play stores and it contains the following changes:

 

  • You can now book for a minimum of 30 minutes again, as opposed to 1 hour. This is in response to a lot of feedback since the change last September.
  • You may notice that the ‘GoFar’ button is gone. From here on, all bookings of 6 hours or more will have the GoFar rate applied. You don’t have to press the GoFar button first.
  • After much feedback from users, we now have an option to search by time. You can insert the time you want a vehicle and the type of vehicle you want (or choose ‘All Vehicle Types’) to see where there are vehicles of your choosing available for when you need them.
  • We now have a new ‘GoGuide’ in the app (in the menu bar), which should give you access to all kinds of useful information to make your trip more smooth. If you’re not that used to the service yet, you might find it useful to have a quick look at the guide before your next trip.

We are also trialling a new system to help customers who experience issues due to a previous customer coming back from their trip late. If it’s 10 minutes before your trip and your car is still on the previous trip, you’ll receive a push notification to advise you of this, and giving you the option to either:

 

  • Cancel your trip free of charge;
  • Rebook into a nearby car;
  • Wait for the car you booked (we’ll let you know when it’s back); or
  • Call our customer service team if you wish to discuss the matter further

 

We hope that this will provide some additional ease for users who are inconvenienced in such cases. If this proves to be a useful addition to the app, we can look into rolling it out for cases where customers get to a car and find it damaged, etc.
