If you don’t have time to head to the mountains for your Christmas Tree and want to stay in the city, The Christmas Tree Barn in Sandyford will definitely do the trick! Located on Three Rock Road in Dublin 18, the Christmas Tree Barn offers a large selection of the two most popular Christmas Tree types: The Nordmann Fir & The Noble Fir.

3. Killakee Christmas Tree Farm

Nestled in the foothills of the Dublin mountains, The Killakee Christmas tree farm offers spectacular views over Dublin and a large variety of Christmas Trees to choose from where you can roam free and tag the tree you want where a member of staff will cut it down for you. Be sure to book a time slot well in advance though as slots fill up fast!

4. Glencullen Christmas Tree Farm

Situated nearby the famous Johnnie Fox’s pub is Glencullen Christmas Tree Farm. They have been operating 12 years, supplying quality Christmas Trees and providing unique experiences to the families who make the journey to their Christmas Tree Farm in Glencullen, Co. Dublin.

5. Caplice’s Christmas Tree Farm

If a trip to beautiful Tipperary is up your street then why not check out Caplice’s Christmas Tree Farm situated in Skeheenarinky, just 13 minutes’ drive south of the town of Cahir. Warm up while your tree is being wrapped up with a complimentary cuppa and chocolate lollies for the kids.

6. Cavangarden Christmas Tree Farm

Located just 6 minutes’ drive north of Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal is Cavangarden Christmas Tree Farm. Run by the McGarrigle family, they’ve been growing and selling Christmas Trees for more than 40 years, so if you’re in the north-west be sure to check them out!

7. Inniscarra Christmas Tree Farm

Nestled in the Lee Valley less than 9kms from Cork City you will find Inniscarra Christmas Tree Farm, a friendly family-run 6-acre plantation which have been in operation since 2018. You’ll get a warm welcome and experience some beautiful Lee Valley scenery with hot chocolate & marshmallows to keep you warm while you’re out and about!

On the other side of the River Lee from Inniscarra you will find Cork Christmas Tree Farm in Currabeg Ovens, Co. Cork. The plantation boasts a huge selection of Christmas Trees all shapes, sizes and varieties where you can choose, and they will cut & wrap the Tree you want.

9. Galway Christmas Tree Farm

Located a short drive east of Athenry in Co. Galway is Meadow Lane Farm, home of Galway Christmas Trees. You’ll find 3 main varieties of Christmas Tree here including Norway Spruce, Nordmann Fir & Lodgepole Pine. Choose the Christmas Tree you want from their large plantation, and they will cut and wrap it for you before you take it off home to decorate.

Recommendations for using GoCar to collect your Christmas Tree

GoCar is super handy for collecting your Christmas Tree from any of these farms, however it is also very important to be mindful of the member who will use the GoCar after you.

See our recommendations below on using GoCar to collect you Christmas Tree:

  1. Please use a GoCargo van, this means you will have plenty of space for your tree
  2. Make sure the tree is held down tightly so it won’t move and get damaged while you are driving. The Christmas Tree Farms usually provide a rope or similar to tie it down
  3. Please discard any nettles that are left from the Christmas Tree, a quick hoover will do the trick
