5 Ideas to Re-purpose your Old Stuff

On the turn of the decade, 2020 is upon us. We are all getting back to business and as 2019 showed, having a more sustainable lifestyle will help keep this planet safer from harmful behavior.

This is why we listed 5 small things you can re-purpose to help the planet!

1. Turn Old Credit Card Into a Guitar Pick

Know a mate that plays? or want to make a few bob and sell online? Cutting up your old credit or debit cards or even old redundant card vouchers and making guitar picks is great way to reuse that plastic!

See how to do it HERE

2. Re-purpose an Old Suitcase Into a Medicine Cabinet

This is a very simple way of storing your meds! Any kind of suitcase would work (preferably smaller the better though) and will keep it in use for years to come.  It’s also great for keeping the kids away as you can lock it up!

3. Use an empty Wine Bottle as a Candle Holder

After Christmas you may have an empty bottle of wine somewhere in the house. You can utilize this by inserting a candle into the top (just make sure it’s tight enough that it won’t fall out!)

Definitely a nice addition to your next romantic meal!

4. Use your Old Chocolate or Sweet Boxes to store your Christmas Decorations

Are there boxes of chocolates or sweets that are almost empty lying about? (generally with all the sweets no one really likes anyway)

Instead of binning them, you can store a decent amount of Christmas decorations in them for next year. Nice!

If you want to be even more creative with this you can:

  1. Use your unused wrapping paper to protect the different, more sensitive decorations in the box
  2. Use the cardboard core of used toilet paper as way of holding your cords & cables

5. Reuse Paper Bags as Holders for your Popcorn and Sweets

Instead of throwing out your brown paper bag you got in the shop, hold onto it and reuse to hold your popcorn or sweets when on your next box set binge. Tasty!
